2018 SB20 National Championship Cascais, Portugal SAILING INSTRUCTIONS ORGANIZATION The Clube Naval de Cascais as Organizing Authority with the support of the SB20 Portugal Class Association establishes this Sailing Instructions for the “2018 SB20 National Championship” opened to SB20 class boats, and it will be raced on 29th June to 1st July 2018 in Cascais, Portugal. 1. RULES 1.1. The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing. 1.2. When in conflict, the Sailing Instructions prevail over the Notice of Race (changes RRS 63.7) 2. NOTICES TO COMPETITORS 2.1. Notices to competitors will be posted on the official notice board located near the race office. 2.2. When a notice is posted, code flag “L” will be hoisted at the official flag pole. 3. CHANGES TO SAILING INSTRUCTIONS 3.1. Any change to the sailing instructions will be posted at least one hour before the 1st scheduled warning signal for the first race of the day on the day it will take effect. 3.2. Any change to the schedule of races will be posted before the end of the protest time limit of the day before it will take effect. 4. SIGNALS MADE ASHORE 4.1. Signals made ashore will be displayed at the official flag pole located at the CNC South Quay. The mast displays CNC flag. 4.2. When flag AP is displayed ashore, ‘1 minute’ is replaced with ‘not less than 60 minutes’ in the race signal AP. 5. SCHEDULE OF RACES 5.1. When more than one race (or sequence or races) will be held on the same day, the warning signal for the first race and each succeeding race will be made as soon as practicable. To alert boats that a race or sequence of races will begin soon, the Race Committee will display an orange flag with sound signal, at least five minutes before a warning signal is displayed. 5.3.
